Sooner Hockey Extends Arvanitis Contract

With the recent success on the ice, Sooner Hockey is excited to announce that current head coach, Peter Arvanitis, the winningest coach in OU Hockey history, has accepted a three-year contract extension through the 2029-30 season.  Through his leadership, OU Hockey has consistently moved up the rankings, starting at number 65 when he took the helm, to this season, finishing number 19 and taking the team to their first ACHA National Tournament since 2019.  Arvanitis welcomed 2025 as he accomplished a major milestone in his career, chalking up is 200^th victory against Colorado on January 25, 2025.

Arvanitis has also built a strong coaching staff with two former Sooner Hockey players, Tyler Huberty and former captain Cameron Bickford joining him behind the bench.  Allen Glass also assists as the strength and conditioning coach for the Sooners.  Collectively, the Sooner coaching staff has an extensive history and background in coaching multiple levels of hockey and brings their vast experience to the bench.
