The 6th-ranked University of Oklahoma® Hockey club picked up where it left off last night with a dominating 10-3 win over No. 12 Central Oklahoma at UCO's home in Edmond on Saturday evening.

Forward Kyle Allan (Flagstaff, AZ) struck first for the Sooners with a power play goal at the 5:31 mark of the first period to give OU an early 1-0 lead.  Forward Adrian Borchgrevink (Kenai, AK) put the Sooners up by two with a goal at the 7:19 mark of the period.  Allan scored his second goal of the game at 13:33 in the first to increase the OU lead to 3-0.  Forward Blake Martin (Anchorage, AK) capped off the first period scoring with a goal just over a minute from the end of the period to send the Sooners to the locker room up 4-0.  The first intermission was taken with 35 seconds left in the first period due to the referee's right brow being split open by an errant puck, an injury that required immediate medical attention and numerous stitches before he returned to officiate the remainder of the game.

UCO changed goalies at the intermission but forward Justin King (DeWitt, MIkept the OU scoring parade rolling with a short-handed goal just 24 seconds into the second period to put OU up 5-0.  Borchgrevink scored his second of the night at 5:21 to give OU an insurmountable 6-0 lead with more than half the game left to be played.  UCO did manage to score with less that a minute to go in the period to break the goose egg and make it a 6-1 game after 40 minutes of play.  In the third period, UCO scored again to tighten the game a bit at 6-2 but the rout was back on when Allan capped off his hat trick evening with a tally at 9:01 of the third to make the score 7-2.  Forward Doug Gebbie (Frisco, TX) tipped in a blast from the point at 13:07 of the third to bring the score to 8-2.  UCO scored again to make it 8-3 but defenseman Robert Hetrick (Tulsa, OK) scored with just over five minutes to go in the game to restore OU's six goal cushion.  Not to be outdone by Allan, Borchgrevink capped off his own hat trick performance with a power play goal just 37 seconds from the final buzzer to make tonight's final 10-3 in favor of the good guys.

Sooners goaltender Chad Helgason (Woodbury, MN) stopped 19 of 22 UCO shots tonight.  UCO starting goaltender Justin Sgro stopped 10 of 14 shots before being yanked at the first intermission and replaced by Cory McGlone, who stopped 11 of 17 shots over the remainder of the game.  Oklahoma was 2 for 8 on the power play while UCO was 0 for 7 with the man advantage.
